Stone Floor Maintenance

Once you have chosen your perfect natural Stone or Wood flooring, maintaining its appearance is extremely important. Correct sealing and maintenance will will allow your floor to sustain the finish it had the day it was bought.

Depending on the type of stone you have chosen, a sealer will need to be applied once it has been laid, the amount of sealer will depend on how porous the stone is. Pietra uses Fila floor care products, Fila Fob sealer is an excellent product and will protect the floor against liquid and stains, perfect for limestone, marble, granite and terracotta, internal and external and will not change the colour of the material. A Satin or Matt finish can also be applied to unpolished stone to give an extra level of protection for high traffic areas and provide a glossy look with no need to hand polish the surface.
