Pietra's new Fulham showroom is progressing well and we look forward to opening in the near future. The main displays will include our full selection of Hard wax Oils for Solid and Engineered wood flooring and demonstrate our colour match service, along with our full range of English Limestone's including Portland, Bath and Marnhul Stone. Other materials include our unique white Gold and Bronze coated wood flooring and Sandstones such as Pietra Serena.

We will also be including one of our new products, Morrell Limestone. Pietra has recently completed a large living and kitchen area using this stunning and versatile stone, which is perfect for kitchens, dinning rooms and any high traffic area. It has a slight creamy variation with a light tumbled and antiqued edge, providing a traditional feel or a great contrast for contemporary environments. This is available in a honed or brushed finish, giving you a textured and non slip surface for kitchen.

Pietra's New London Showroom

Pietra is proud to announce the opening of our new London showroom, within the Fulham area. The London based showroom will showcase our wide range of Engineered and Solid Wood flooring, Classic English Limestones and Handmade Furniture.

Pietra's York Stone Flooring

Pietra has recently been working on a project using our stunning buff grey sawn York Stone, this comes in 400-600mm x random lengths and can be internally or externally. As you can see below the stone was used to create an outside stairway and a large paved area around the property.

We have a large range of English Limestone's available, including Bath, Portland, Marnhull and Cotswold, these are available with a chipped, pillowed or sawn edges.

Pietra's New Products and Customised Design

During the summer we were commissioned by on of our customers to create a statement piece for a new cloakroom within a traditional style home. This was achieved by using Turkish limestone and was designed and manufactured to a custom size. During the course of 2012 Pietra will introduce a stunning range of Solid Stone one-piece basins into the market place to compliment or add a contrast to any stone flooring.
We look forward to presenting more products in the months ahead.

Pietra at Cabana, Westfield.

At last we have some excellent shots of Cabana in the Westfield Centre, Stratford.

Pietra supplied an unfinished 'Scaffold' style board, fitted throughout the restaurant and bar area, creating the authentic, rustic Brazilian style they were looking for. The flooring was finished on site with 3 coats of Blanchon Environment Oil and will be maintained with Blanchon cleaning products. Recent Walnut Project

Pietra povides Walnut Flooring for 14 luxury apartments on Newman Street, Central London. Our Engineered Walnut flooring was finished with three coats of clear hard wax oil and maintenance oil, providing an ultra smooth finish, running throughout each apartment and 2 luxury penthouses, in the heart of the capital. This beautiful Walnut shows its subtle light and dark tones, providing a contrast between the modern, white kitchen furniture and complimenting light and space. The development is near completion and we are very pleased with the end results and to have been part of the project.

American Black Engineered Walnut Flooring - 20 x 180mm available unfinished or pre finished, prime or rustic grade, with a range of different widths and lengths.

Stone Floor Maintenance

Once you have chosen your perfect natural Stone or Wood flooring, maintaining its appearance is extremely important. Correct sealing and maintenance will will allow your floor to sustain the finish it had the day it was bought.

Depending on the type of stone you have chosen, a sealer will need to be applied once it has been laid, the amount of sealer will depend on how porous the stone is. Pietra uses Fila floor care products, Fila Fob sealer is an excellent product and will protect the floor against liquid and stains, perfect for limestone, marble, granite and terracotta, internal and external and will not change the colour of the material. A Satin or Matt finish can also be applied to unpolished stone to give an extra level of protection for high traffic areas and provide a glossy look with no need to hand polish the surface.

Fila Marble Restorer is also a very useful tool, removing any scratches, marks or damage to the surface of a polished floor, this small kit will repair and reseal the stone. Decorex 2011

Another year over for Decorex and it seemed to be a great success, whilst wandering around some of the stunning interior stands, there were a few that stood out for Pietra.

First being Little Greene's giant space hooper, telephone and toy solider demonstrating their new vibrant range of colours, Retrospectives! All 32 colours have been fully researched and authenticated by English Heritage as part of Little Greene's ongoing commitment to the preservation of England's rich history of decoration and design excellence. Here you can see a small preview of the range, based upon the prolific shift in interior design, in tandem with the many significant cultural and social changes of the time.

We have new colour cards in store and can assist on which of these stunning colours will work with your interior. Topez Blue from the 70's and Milk Thistle from the 60's has to be two of my favourites...

A recent project Pietra has just complete, shows our Antique Handscraped Engineered Oak board put down in a large living space, hand finished by our fitter Ricky, with two coats of clear Hard Wax Oil. The end results give a floor with smooth, distressed knots and character, with lightly pillowed edges to each board. We have had some wonderful feed back from the customer and happy to have had another successful installation with our Antique European Range. These boards can be finished in a large selection of Hard Wax Oils, on site or factory finished and all are suitable for under floor heating.

Property near Bath, England

We have just recieved images of a project carried out just south of Bath, by ourselves. The tradional stone house was completely modernised with new flooring and both bathrooms completely remodelled. Throughout the entrance hall, Portland stone flagstones were laid and now look very much a fabric of the building.

To the bathrooms a combination of Antalya Turkish Limestone, which has an off white apperance. In the main bathroom we cleverly devised a shower bath, with fully folding glass screens, which enable unrestricted bathing when folded back. The customers were delighted with this unique feature we had devised for them. Please feel free to contact us on how best to achieve this

Latest Project in Merseyside

Our most recent prestigious project has been assisting a large Merseyside contractor, in the refurbishment of a wing of a country house in a famous parkland setting, the material used in the flooring area was a honed German Limestone, commonly known as Jura. Our brief was to follow the pattern through three large interconnecting areas, with much detailed and intricate works required. We are very pleased to say that, we were delighted with the outcome and the courtesy shown to us by the contractor and customer alike and are proud to have formed an important part of this high profile renovation project.

Pietra is proud to have been involved in the wholesale redevelopment of the prestigious, beach side South Sand Hotel, set aside the lapping emerald sea water near Salcombe on the Southern tip of Devon. The hotel is sure to earn itself the reputation of one of the finest small boutique hotels in the south of England, its breathtaking location is more than matched by a uniquely modern yet somewhat nautical flavour, that echoes through out the interior. Our involvement over the past eighteen months has been mainly to provide stunning en-suite facilities to the individual rooms and the provision of some stunning flooring products such as, Portland stone and wide character Oak engineered boards, throughout the restaurant and reception areas.
